Hugelkultur Gardening 🌿
Have you ever heard of hugelkultur gardening? 🌿
It’s a fantastic concept…essentially it requires setting up a nutrient rich soil that continues to provide luscious nutrients to the plants planted around it over time!
What you’ll need:
Some branches
Any compostable materials such as grass clippings, soil or straw
Seeds for planting
Instructions:
First pile up branches a foot or two deep in a mound 4 to 8 feet long
Then use your feet to stomp on the pile to compact it a bit
Take the compostable materials you have and toss into the pile
Sprinkle some compost on the mound and top with an inch or so of soil
Now you’re ready to plant! You can try planting herbs, potatoes, sweet potatoes, gourds, peppers and many more
And don’t forget to water!
