Horniman Museum and Gardens

Another South London gem that we couldn’t help recommending is the Horniman Museum and Gardens, located near Dulwich, and around a 30-40 minute drive from Morden, Fulham, Wandsworth and Wimbledon.

The museum has free entry for the majority of its spaces and gardens, with just a small additional fee if you would like to visit the Butterfly House (£6.50), Aquarium (£2.50/£5) or certain exhibitions (£4.50/£8.50).

There are so many things to see and do here, it’s worth planning your day out in advance to make the most of it!

Their 16-acre grounds have some gorgeous planted gardens, a nature trail for little ones to explore and even a fascinating animal walk where, among many others, you can see rabbits, sheep and alpacas up close for no additional charge! Whilst their indoor nature base has lots of great learning activities for little ones to discover local nature and even view hundreds of honey bees in their special hive in the Summer months.

The museum itself has lots of incredible anthropology, natural history and musical instrument artefacts from around the world, and also some gorgeous architecture in their limestone clocktower, beautiful conservatory and even an Alaskan totem pole!

There really is something for everyone of all ages at the Horniman, to find out more, follow the link below!
